Uncle Fester  came in as an owner surrender,typical story that the kid wanted a ferret.  Parents either didn’t pay attention or didn’t want to spend money for vet care- but this guy came in NAKED.  Never had vet care and they dont’ even remember his original color.  Depsite his looks he is active and vet estimated to be only 3 years old.  He is to go in for Adrenal surgery and will likely need monthly shot of lupron for life.

Sadly Uncle Fester did not make it.  Thank you for all your warm wishes and concern.

May he rest in peace.

Please help us to continue our work by participating in our 17^th annual Howl & Hike Dog Walk and Family Fun Day scheduled for Sunday, October 16^th. The event will again be held at Horseshoe Lake, Eyland Avenue, Succasunna, NJ from 12 noon to 4pm. We are enhancing the event so it promises to be a “howling” good time!

I just wanted to give you the update.  Brent Weaver from Seaport Aquarium came yesterday and picked up Zorak and her enclosure and took them to the aquarium.  I am very happy with how easy the adoption process was and with her new owners.

Patty, Dave, and Larry,
    I adopted Darth about a year ago, and i just thought you would like to hear that he is doing great.  He and my female, Brembo, were just at the vet for their annual check-up, and vaccinations, and are both in stellar fantastic health!
     I attached a couple pictures of him / them for you.  Thanks again for everything, and hopefully i will be contacting you soon about coming up to visit

Hi Dave,

            Here are some pictures of mocha, we have nick named her the blur because she’s so quick most pictures are just that…a blur. We love her though and she has turned out to be a fantastic educational animal for our collection. She loves her roommate Ed, and they enjoy there playtime every day. Our volunteers love to give them different things to do, and now that it has warmed up she even gets to go outside and play in our out door playpen. The donation is still in the process, but it is going to be to you as soon as possible. I hope you enjoy the pictures, and just know Mocha is doing great

 Dave now is officially our ferret shelter dad, he has the adoptables at his home and has custom made them play areas, and free roam ‘caged’ areas.  He has taken over adoptions and surrenders and has gone above and beyond for the rescue.

Larry has the sicker ferrets that need hand feedings, TLC and financial help.

Gail is still liaison for the rescue, and helps with the admin issues.
Meri is our webmistress, south NJ contact

Diane is still our PA contact/foster and help with PA reptile rescues.

Patty screens the incoming/adoption applications, and keeps petfinder up to date.

A big thanks to  kristeen for helping financially, and to set up pet adoption days, organize us and keep us going.
We also appreciate all Metro Ferret has done and continues to do to help us and other shelters in our area.
